Whats your favorite quote?

Tune In
Turn On
Burn Out

Isn't it;

Tune In
Turn on
Drop out
Timothy Leary (1967)
:naughty:

However considering the source "Burn Out" might be more descriptive. I was in San Fransico, and lived on Treasure Island as a teenager, during "Summer of Love" and what this total burnout stoner did to this movement is unforgivable.

A lot of "favorite" quotes but this one comes to mind first:

Lady Nancy Astor: "Winston, if you were my husband, I'd put poison in your coffee."

Winston Churchill: "Nancy, if you were my wife, I'd drink it."

"In a nation ruled by swine, all pigs are upwardly mobile—and the rest of us are ****ed until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. We owe that to ourselves and our crippled self-image as something better than a nation of panicked sheep."
—The Great Shark Hunt, 1979, Hunter S. Thompson

"There are people in this world who do not love their fellow human beings, and I hate people like that!" - Tom Lehrer

"I spent a lot of money on booze, birds and fast cars. The rest I just squandered."

and

"The only things in life that I regret are the temptations that I resisted."

"Imma rip your face,...... off your face"

Drunken co-worker when I bottled Coca-Cola years ago when asked at a meeting if she was paying attention.

"Nice boy, but he's about as sharp as a sack of wet mice." - Foghorn Leghorn

"Y'all got on this boat for different reasons, but y'all come to the same place. So now I'm asking more of you than I have before. Maybe all. Sure as I know anything, I know this - they will try again. Maybe on another world, maybe on this very ground swept clean. A year from now, ten? They'll swing back to the belief that they can make people... better. And I do not hold to that. So no more runnin'. I aim to misbehave." - Captain Malcolm Reynolds - "Serenity"

I love quotes.
One of my favorites "No one ever went broke under-estimating the tastes of the American public" H L Menken

The Sage of Baltimore has many of my favorites, with the one you cited high on the list. To these, I add:

Democracy is the art and science of running the circus from the monkey cage.

Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want, and deserve to get it good and hard.

Another favorite from George Bernard Shaw:

Patriotism is your conviction that this country is superior to all other countries because you were born in it.

"you don't know what you don't know"

And...

In reply to comments of how it's no fun getting older... "it beats the alternative"

-my Dad.
