I posted last week about my son helping a friend move his late uncles belongings. He sent me pics, and the box for the Pioneer turntable was for a Pl-117d. I picked up the stuff today, and when i got home, this is what was in the box. A Pl-570. Couldn't believe how heavy this is. It's not perfect, cracked dustcover by a hinge, but i am really quite happy. The Ess Amt 1 speakers had the wrong woofers, Simply Speakers, and one was missing the crossovers, and speaker binding posts. Not sure what his friend's uncle plan was. The cabinets are near perfect, grills are perfect. Both Heil tweeters present. Not sure what im gonna do with them. Also the box of records. About 40 lps. Most were classic rock.

Picked up some LPs at a live auction at a farm in the country.
There was a day 20 years ago I could get a crate of records for $5. This batch was $30 for around 60-70 LPs with about half being rock/pop the other half classical. The Delonghi espresso maker for $10 wasn't a bad buy either. $45.20 all in, about twice what the gas cost to get there and back.PXL_20260808_152521598.jpg

Picked up a Planar SR-2040 - the little brother to my SR-2100 in great cosmetic condition. I think the SR-2040 is even harder to find. Cleaned pots, did lamps including dial pointer, did a recap of amp board which fixed the distortion in one channel and was able to get FM in stereo again with a tweak to a pot. Bit of a gamble since no SM is available for this one.
Sounding pretty good now, will redo the power, tone, tuner and phono boards now that it's in a good place.

Pair of nice condition Mordaunt Short MS300 speakers. Replaced the 3.3uF electrolytic with a nice poly cap and shorted the two poly switches on the Positec circuit so they are out of the signal path. I was getting varying DCR’s with the poly switches in circuit. This fix solved that. They sound very nice. I had a pair back in the 80’s and have always kept my eye out for a set at a decent price.
