This is a fairly long video, but a good watch none the less. It held my attention. This has to be the most epic well put together retort from one company to another I've come across in a long time.

Problem is, these "brands" are so far beyond me that I just pass them by. So, who is this really reaching?

I see the advertisements, and "sigh," but then just move on...

they are both big selling pieces and have a lot of interest. So I guess it's reaching potential buyers?
 
I don’t see this as a positive for Prima Luna but that’s just my opinion. He’s giving them credibility with his 32 minute response.
 
I was just rubbernecking in here.. saw the thread title, assumed some trainwreck.. nothing to see. Over 30 minutes it’s worth me getting out to help.
 
I really don't care for Prima Luna's whole approach, if you need to tear down another product to promote yours it says that yours will not stand on it's own merits. This is not the only one of these videos they continue to produce. Shows poor form on their part IMHO.

Based on my interpretation of the video and all the comments posted by viewers, it was totally a positive for PrimaLuna. Kevin absolutely destroyed Ravin Audio in this video; I'd love to see them attempt a come back video as a rebuttal.

On the flip side of this, Kevin has done his share of throwing shade on other companies.

I would assume most of the comments came from people that own or support the guy but who knows. From my perspective it was not positive at all but again, that’s my opinion. Of course I also get zero entertainment value from drama like this, makes me uncomfortable.
 
I don't think Prima Luna has a clue. When you are showing off and bragging about your top-quality electronic components, you really don't want to be showing the public your sloppy assembly and contaminated gobble-snot soldering. Good grief, hire a better monkey....

Well, I guess there are no new topologies. There are no new valve designs (the actual valves, that is, not the surrounding circuitry) that I'm aware of.

Unless someone is having a go at a valve-based class D amp...

Wow. That is pretty poor.

And I'm sorry, but anyone still using point to point tag strip wiring rather than a PCB is doing it purely for cosmetic reasons. It's more expensive (takes longer to build), less reliable, less repeatable, and harder to maintain. The only vague argument is reduced parasitics, but good PCB design can address that.

I got to the story time with the kids part and hit eject. So this is basically a dealer for brand A bashing brand B because someone sent him an email that said they like brand B better than brand A??? Is there more to this or is that pretty much it?

No, there's more to it than that. Raven has posted at least one video where they take shots at PrimaLuna.
