Lancer 99 is a 14" 2 way it uses the same tweeter as the original L100. I would at least go L100, and if you can afford it and find them L65's are a great match for your 1250.

Neither, L96, L112, 4410, 4412, 4313b. All of these are *much* more accurate speakers. Although the L100s are collector items and the LE14a woofers in the Lancers as well.

Boy was I surprised when I read this. Then I corrected the punctuation and edited it a bit and it made sense:

Neither.
The L96, L112, 4410, 4412, or 4313b are all much more accurate speakers.

I always have to add L5 and L7 to the JBL jumble.

I think the Lancer 99s are missing too much midrange, they are an extreme two way. The sound good, but it is not the best implementation of cabinetry or driver combinations. I think that L36 are the best smaller JBLs I've heard, and you can usually find these for pretty cheap.

I own 3 pairs of L112'S and you can't find a better speaker for the money.
I've also owned L65's,good but not great.L166,nice for the price. Also had a pair of the Lancer 99's,my first real speakers, there good but lack mids ,and highs,IMO. I've got all my speakers for sale, and when there gone I'll buy a pair of JBL 4344 moitors and I'll be happy..... Thats my .02 cents worth..

Look for L96,L110,L112,4411,4410,4412,4310,4313B, L5,L7 all will make your sx1250 sing at its best....

I'd have to say as for sound, the L-65 is superior to the L-100, and the 4311, 4312. They have a much better tweeter, and the bass frequency does go deeper-lower.

Downside of the L-65, it is an odd speaker as far as its size goes. It should have a custom stand to get it a bit off the floor. Mark

I agree. I have L65As on 17 inch stands. Initially I didn't like them, but they continue in rotation with my Maggies. L65s are IMHO overpriced, but nevertheless a good speaker if properly set up.
