Who was the first guitarist to do the "Chicka chicka wa wa" sound?

I thought it went back to Lonnie Mack ... but they worked it so hard in the SHAFT theme song that introduced us all to it.
(How hard did they work it baby?, oh oh baby, THAT hard ... SHAFT!)

I think we're starting to border on explicitly salacious content now. Of course, that was guaranteed to happen with this subject matter. ;) I may have to refer back to the official site policies now to see how much farther down this road is within the guidelines. ;)

lt all began at 3.30 am in the Pig and Pup pub in Cleveland in 1969 when Mickey Muff collapsed on his Strat after a surfeit of vodka and pork scratchings.Recovering himself at once he blithely continued clumsily thwacking his instrument while gyrating unstabely around the stage treading on things and pedals.Crowd went wild and the rest is history.Mickey never got the recognition he deserved, ending his days as a merkin costumier with notorious rock entrepeneur Vern Furkenball.

As of today he will get the recognition he deserves. RIP Mickey.

No no no! This was actually all started by Carman Miranda. She did this in 1941 and died in 1955!

Everyone else just ripped her off and took liberties with it.

Theres some talk that Carmen and Vern had a liason-producing Mickey and giving him away to the Muff family....would explain everything wa wa it seems....

Yeah, Skip Pitts, studio guy at Stax who played the guitar on Shaft. He died not long ago.

Check him out here.

I don't know who did it first, but this guy did it best! You got the idea they could have kept on going for another 10 minutes with the jam at the end. Awesome.

It's a Rockabilly and country inspired Memphis funk lick. Has some of the twang of Memphis Country music and rockabilly, with the funky Memphis R&B and Soul stew blended into one deluxe funky, chunky Joint. A Memphis session man lick which was always money in that musician's bank account. Lonnie Mack's sound is in there to a degree. And Lonnie Mack was very influenced by earlier Blues, R&B, and Black Gospel Shouters in so many ways.
