Who's listening with headphones tonight? To what?

Another Nod to the 880's. Sitting in the hotel ropm shuffling my IPhone to them. Led Zep heartbreaker right now

I'm thoroughly enjoying my new fixation, the electronic artist Deadmau5 (pronounced "dead mouse"). Currently Senn HD 497 through my Kenwood KA 3500, later I'll move to the bed, rock the iPod, Cmoy, same headphones combo, and do some weird reading.

An all vinyl show this evening:

John Coltrane Quartet - Ballads
Miles Davis - Birth of the Cool
Sonny Rollins - On Impulse

Listening via AKG-702s driven by a McCormmack Micro Headphone Drive, fed from a VPI HW-19 Mk IV/AQ PT-6/Dynavector DV-20XL/Dynavector P-75.

Right now its BB king and tomorrow a new windshield after getting hammered by hail.:tears:

Foo Fighters: Wasting Light -- rocking through a pair of AKG K301XTRA and a Sansui C-2101 pre-amp driven by an ASUS Xonar-DX soundcard playing lossless wav files... Nirvana (pun intended) :)

I was listening to some Chicago Transit Authority (first run vinyl pressing) earlier tonight on my Sony MDR-V150's. My Pioneer SE-30 is in the shop getting a re-cable.

Last night - Grado sr125i while adjusting VTA (getting used to new platter mat and record clamp) listening to Paul & Linda's Ram. I forgot how much I enjoy this record.

Dusted off the RS2i's tonight running through my homebrew H/P amp and I am currently listening to Muse 'The Resistance' sounds pretty good to me. Anybody else notice how music always sounds better with the lights dimmed or off, must be to do with the reduction of the other senses.

Gf's still asleep so listening to Rush's Snakes and Arrows with the Beyer 770's via the Matrix M-Stage amp and CA DAC Magic. :music:

Not a bad pairing, the sharp highs of the 770's bring out the snappy and delicate cymbal work of Neil and acoustic guitar work of Alex, and the 770's lows bring out the bottom end more than with my 702's or 225i's.

Have you ever had a chance to compare the 770s to 880s?

I'd be curious.

Work's been slack so I've been listening to The Black Keys (Thickfreakness and Rubber Factory) and Smashing Pumpkins (Siamese Dream) on my Sennheiser PX-100s. Great portable phones IMO. Folding up makes them terribly easy to keep on my desk at work for the rainy/slow days.

No, sorry, but I have heard many times that the sound signature is much the same (same overall Beyer house sound)...but can't be sure as I've never heard both back to back.

PS: I'll get to your other PM shortly!

Overkill Saturday Night

I was watching TV alone (Shooter) and wanted the volume at a reasonable level. Mrs. Carbonman was in bed reading. I have a TOSlink connection from the TV to my DAC with the output through a Carver H9-AV Sonic Holography processor, then into a maxed-out PPA headphone amp and my old DT880 cans. The movie was lots of fun even though they edited the crap out of the final scenes. Sound was great!

Gorillaz latest release "The Fall" on my rig thru Pioneer Monitor 10's!

FanTasTic!

They have totally captured a roadtrip via music; imo.

:)
