Why the hell won’t they give us meters?

I like meters but can't stand the Mac blue meters. I always leave mine off.
The ones on the Onkyo Grand Integra 510 are what meters should look like.

Why don’t more manufacturers incorporate them in their average priced products?

I've never felt the need for meters. I can tell if my amp is clipping (though I never get close). I listen to the music.

yeah, anything that distracts the listener takes away from the experience. I do like to know where I'm at sometimes but have no need to know once I sit down to listen.

I really dislike it when someone trys to speak for everyone. "Everyone likes meters" is one of those statements that makes me cring. I see that GChief gets it as well.

I hang around a lot of fellow audiophools, most do not have meters that I have noticed... and I would have noticed those tacky things. It's bad enough some have the too many knob and switches having 70's receivers

I've been looking at DIY plans and instructables for something like this... Large and in charge! I don't see me having the time to do all that acrylic cutting and polishing though...

Same here, about 50/50, but if meters I prefer analog vs lights, and even here I have both, and again 50/50 on my tape decks.

Another touch I like are rack handles, running about 80/20 here on that.
