Wood meets Steel

I'm thinking I need to take out the cassette deck so I can get a little more room above my M-90. I talked with the guy that cut the glass for the doors and he said it would only cost about $20 for a piece of 1/4" glass. That will give the amp a little more breathing room.

Very nice, Denny! :thmbsp:

Did you get your speaker stands powder coated yet? :scratch2:

I did. I need to drill out the holes for the spikes. I think the threads got messed up when they sandblasted the parts. I'll drill the holes all the way through and put a jam nut on the top and bottom of the bottom plate.

Don't mind all those wires behind the stand. I still need to finish moving some other speakers and wires around. :D

The top and bottom plates are 11" x 14" x 5/8" plate steel. The center tube is a 6" x 6" x 3/8" tube. It's held together with a 3/8" ready rod and filled with sand. Powder coated gloss black to match my tv stand and Elite gear. :smoke:

Man, i build and restore furniture for a living and make the occasional piece for myself. . . . . . that my friend is very nice indeed, some real care and attention went into that piece, an inspiration to us all.

Gonna look great when its finished, you have to post pics! Are you going to fit lockable
castors,so you dont have to drag it to plug things in and out?

Beautiful job, you did very very well, and as i gazed at the bare frame I thought to myself that it was a double plus to have a frame capable of being a jackstand for a D6. Awesome.
