Words fail!!!

What? Why would you want to remove a

professionally applied, guaranteed-permanent, anti-resonant surface plinth with mesolithic materials - guaranteed to break up resonances and reflections of the sound bouncing off the turntable area and affecting the purity of the sound

?

I say turn on the lava lamp and roll with it:smoke:

So are you suggesting to set up a separate "Flower Power system"?
"Rainbow" grill cloth and stuff?
Don't think my better half will appreciate it!

It could be worse. They could have all been neon colors. Or maybe that would have improved it under a black light.:scratch2:

This needs to be done, and the photo posted! Some large advents with rainbow grill cloth, a low end pioneer painted in some tie die looking fashion. Oh will need in-scents, bell bottoms and whatever hippie music that can be found. :D

On a serious note, I wonder if that top piece of plastic is the same for other models? Maybe worth looking into.

Not my style, but i do kinda like it. I've seen worse things done to gear.

Might just be better to put it up for sale and list as a special custom edition or something. Trying to remove all that material might be more effort than it's worth.

It's really not that bad, for what it is. After all, as someone posted, that's not exactly a Thorens. Let it be, it may actually help the sound.

I've seen worse. I've got seven granddaughters and they all do s*** like that. As long as it works, play it in the dark and you won't have to look at it.

It's subjective.......some folks would call that spinny thingy in your avatar art........while others might use it for target practice or for something run over with their 4x4.

I don't see how this is any better or worse than that.

Good point. And I have to take another picture of my shiny thingy with a slip mat. Less shine you know....

I like it. Would I want to have it as my daily player, proudly on display? Probably not. But I think it's pretty cool and looks like it was done with loving care. It would likely look a whole lot worse after trying to remove the stuff and leaving just the scars.
