Very true and there's an automatic kinship. When I'm up north and hear a person with a southern accent I'm quick to ask where they're from.

People who say money can't buy happiness just don't know where to shop.
I never understood people taking pride in something they didn't accomplish, or something they were born into.
My bloodline is pure Appalachia, from England, some from Ireland, and even a little Prussian.
That means beans to me. I didn't ask for it, nor did anything to earn it.
Now, being Southern......that's always in motion, isn't it?? I do enjoy being a by-gahd Son of the South, in all the positive ways. I hold doors open for ladies. I say "ma'am" until asked not to do so. I say "Sir" in the same manner to men I meet.
To be a genteel and friendly Southern man is my sincere desire.

I got a good laugh at that one. Couple of years ago I found a book at Goodwill; Encyclopedia of Jazz. Tucked in the book was a letter from someone at The Electric Lemon Record Company addresses to a dj at WWOZ. I'm sure drugs were involved in the writing of that letter. My best guess is that the letter accompanied an lp that the author was hoping the dj would play on the air. Somewhere in the letter was "A stitch in time is worth two in the bush".
Letter? I deny it emphatically.

We must be talking about two different things... A##holes will get in your s##t with violence and helping them won't be a consideration... break contact and avoid if possible, if not the police are only minutes away...
