Worthwhile Soundtracks? Purple Rain, 2001, What else?

[Urizen]

Anything by or with Ry Cooder:

His soundtrack comp, Music by Ry Cooder, is excellent.

I'll second the Conan soundtrack - one of my all-time favorite OST's. I'll add "The Lost Boys" soundtrack as well. Lots of great music on there. I"ll be picking that up on vinyl if it exists and if I can find it.*LOVE* that S.T.!

I really dig What's Up Tiger Lilly? and Your a Big Boy Now, Both by The Lovin Spoonful, almost as much as their regular LPs.

The Harder They Come may be my favorite sountrack though, it was a great introduction to reggae for us midwesteren hillbilly punks.

Ummm...sorry to throw a wrench in guys and gals, but is a concert video really a movie? I don't think so

My picks:
Zachariah: The First Electric Western - Stands out as one of the all time best
The Keep (as already mentioned)
My Fair Lady (as mentioned)
South Pacific
Tommy (the original even though it was an "Opera"-the movie blew huge chunks uke
2001: A Space Odessy
Cabaret

good call on 'Fire Walk with Me'; I gots that one. the original Twin Peaks soundtrack album had the main theme and Julee Cruse's vocals 'Into the Night', 'The Nightengale', and '(Are we) Falling in Love'.

'Countryman' best reggae music ever.

'Brick' muted horns, cowbell...sets the moods wonderfully. I highly recommend music and movie.

'Vision Quest' most memorable tunes (to me at least); 'Only the Young' (Journey's finest moment') and 'Shout' (Style Council). also early Madonna song 'Crazy for You', but don't hold that against it.

[Zeromancer]

The Abyss
Total Recall
LOTR - The Two Towers
Dark City
Goonies Soundscore (not the soundtrack; got it as an import from Japan)
Batman Returns: Original Motion Picture Score
A.I. Artificial Intelligence
Jurassic Park
Stargate
Solaris
Aliens Vs. Predator movie sucked but the score for it was also amazing
Last of the Mohicans
Black Hawk Down
King Arthur [Music by Hans Zimmer] [OST] [Expanded] [2CD]
Tron
Last of the Dogmen
City of Ember
The Dark Crystal - Trevor Jones (I have it on vinyl)
Van Helsing (movie sucked but the score is dark and creepy)
Innerspace
Howard the Duck

Explorers

Isn't Segers' 'Roll Me Away' the closing credit song?
PS: I loved the movie when I was 18 or 19!
