good calls on...
Ennio Maracone's spaghetti music--awe-some.

The Crow was great, esp single 'Can't Rain all the Time'. wonderful stuff.

Apocalypse Now classic movie; can't imagine it without the music. every time I hear a helo I can hear 'This is the end...'

the 'Scream' track had some wicked (so to speak) tunes ('Red Right Hand' by Nick Cave...)

"Into the Night" - terrible movie, great soundtrack by B. B. King.
"Boys on the Side" - never seen it, but soundtrack is good...

I'm listening to one now that I'm really enjoying:

Remember My Name (features Alberta Hunter)

I've never even heard of the movie.

One of the best soundtracks ever created has yet to be mentioned (unless I missed it), probably because the film is older than most of us:

VICTORY AT SEA

If you aren't familiar with it, check it out. It has probably the closest matching EVER between what you see on the screen and what you hear, and the music itself is very evocative and in places, beautiful.

Otherwise, I think all my favorites have been listed already, except maybe "Rob Roy". There is a hauntingly beautiful celtic vocal song on that. Overall, it is similar to "Braveheart" or "Last of the Mohicans" or one other whose name escapes me (mediocre film in which Tom Cruise and Nicolle Kidman emigrate (run away) to the US and join in the Oklahoma land rush). Good "new age-ish" orchestral works that paint sonic landscapes well.

I like a lot of others, too, from some rock compilations to the spaghetti westerns to... well, lots of them! A few of the ones mentioned I never thought about as soundtrack fodder; have to check them out. Thanks for that, folks! :D

Seconded! Lots of convergence on some of my faves, and new ones to try.

Arkay remember the scene in Patriot Games with the track by Enya (when she was still with Clannad)?

How is it this thread got to 59 posts without a mention of -

SHAFT
- by the late, great Isaac Hayes

"Daaaamn right"

I was playing this pre-recorded R2R on my Sony TC-252D when I was 12.

Amadeus
Pulp Fiction (mentioned)
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (more like variations on a theme; but, good)
The Godfather
The Deadly Affair (Quincy Jones)
The Pawnbroker (Quincy Jones)

and, of course

REN & STIMPY: You Eeediot!!! ...c'mon you guys... "Nose Goblins", "Space Madness"! :lmao:
