Wow - DBX BX3, CX3 & Forte's for $250

I wonder if the pair will get to a thousand dollars? Almost there now...

Hey Tower Boss, How do you like the Preamp? What can you compare it too? I'm very curious about it...

Not quite a grand, but it looks like the person flipping these almost tripled his outlay plus kept the original Klipsch Forte speakers as an added bonus!

Looks like the two top bidders each took home a prize and appears that the person that won the amp is now in need of the matching pre and tuner. :scratch2:

Each of the DBX pres I have are extremely nice, but not the best I have ever had. They are all comparable to any of the Japanese SS brands offered to the masses. They are loaded with unique features, have great specs, and have performed their respective switching, tone and volume duties exceptionally well. Of the three models I have, I like the CX1 for its build/looks, the CX-3MkII because of the added remote (Getting Old), and the CX-3 because its markings match up better over the BX-3/BX-3mkII amplifiers. The only pre I do not have from DBX is the CX-2 (looking), but I am sure it performs as well as the others.

Here is another DBX BX-3 & CX-3 that was posted up in Long Island, NY CL today. They are looking for $500.00 for both and local pickup, but maybe an AK Pony Express or talking them into dropping at UPS Store can get these into an AKers hands.

Top of the line amp and pre amp from the makers of the original surround sound and noise reduction, paid 5000.00 for both when I was stationed in Okinawa, there in great shape, 300 watts per channel. You would have to pick them up, the Amp weighs a ton and would cost way too much to ship. If your into music and stereo equiptment you will appreciate these, none of this amp pre amp in one peice, this is high end stuff you see in home thearte magizine.

BTW, no way they paid $5000.00 for these. The original MSRP for the BX-3 was $2500.00, but not necessarily sold for that amount.

Isn't it funny how people who don't want to ship always say something to the effect of "will cost way too much to ship, pick up only". I can understand this logic for selling on CL of course, as the local pickup is the most safe form of transaction. But on ebay, with all the monster speakers, horns, etc, a 'little' amp is certainly not too heavy, and many people are willing to pay the high shipping cost.

<Sigh>....I have a CX-3mkII and a collection of amps, but I can't for the life of me get ahold of a TX-3. But seeing the prices that dbx is fetching right now, I might consider liquidating...nah...I love the meters! And I need a remote for the pre!

BX-3mkII bridged into my a/d/s L-1290/2s. BX-2 running my sat/sub in the living room (3 channel) and a BX-3 sitting in the garage needing a good cleaning and new relays.
