Oh, well... look at it this way: now some lucky person hasn't blindly given away their lucky windfall. You hear about people finding out they've bought some rare, nearly-forgotten or unknown great master painting or nearly-priceless ancient Chinese vase for ten bucks at a garage sale, and think "How lucky they are!" But do you ever stop and think how the person who sold that million-dollar item for ten bucks feels? Karma works both ways, I think. We all like to make great deals. I do, as much as anyone. But when a potential "steal" isn't one because a seller finds out the value of what they are selling, then it is no different than a situation with a seller who knew what the value was all along.
Sorry you didn't get the "steal of a lifetime". I know how that feels, having lost one (an even better deal, monetarily speaking, on something at least as rare) recently. But perhaps it's better Karma, this way?
