4 8" woofers, thats 64 pi square inches. Thats less woofer area than a ML-2 or an XR-7. Yes they are ported to gain sum efficiency. But you will note the bottom octave is missing. And being a line array laying on its side there is going to be terrible floor reflection interference. Thats why I never bought XR-27. Off axis response horizontally will be very narrow for sure. At least the the center speakers for the 2K and 1K had a broader horizontal coverage. I guess if you are using a perforated screen you could put three behind the screen vertically with two strong JL sub woofers. The most important thing is how they will interface with your room. Room Perfect can only do so much. I love my line arrays for my Stereo system. But for HT systems where the are many seating position in the design a horizontal line array unless wired in a Bessler configuration in my view is very questionable.

I mean, yea it is $40k, but it is made to go with the $130k a pair speakers (and I think that is a 2019 price from a review). It seems like if you are building a home theater at that price point, the $40k isn't that big of a deal.

The owner's manual warns that it takes three people to unpack and carry this speaker, as it is almost 180 pounds.
