Wonderful news.
At some point, and whenever as I know that you’re busy with other projects, I have a feeling that with two of these fitted the imaging (and possibly other aspects) of the A-1 will be excellent! Am convinced that the upright daughter board was a means of quality control by Yamaha to ensure that service engineers fitted only ‘matched’ 2sk100 pairs. It might have cost more but very accurate matching was an element of the amplifier’s design that was important to get right.
Maybe Linear Systems ‘quad matched pair 2sk170’s ‘ are partly a consequence of this?
