Hello everyone!

This thread is a continuation of:
https://audiokarma.org/forums/index.php?threads/yamaha-b2-and-quadral-vulkan-mk4.1070144/

So I brought home the MX-1 and CX-2, they are in good condition. Please note that I did not clean anything. First I tested a bit in the workshop, everything works perfectly. I then lightly dusted the surface and set the left MX-1 to 13.2mV and the right to 14.2mV set both channels to 14mV. Well, and then I took them to my rack, I had to modify the rack of a lot of big MX-1s, they didn't fit. And now I was playing Stanley Clarke-East River Drive from my hard drive,

MY GOD it's beautiful, but Quadral Vulkan is finally PLAYING!!! Space, depth, clarity, buttery highs, clean mids and dry and fast bass. I am very happy. After I listen to Yamaha properly, there will probably be a recap of both rigs, but that's in the future for now. Hello Pavel

Hi Satpaul! Welcome to AK! Nothing you said surprises me about those Yamaha pieces. I've been a fan of Yamaha since I was 28 years old, 40 plus years ago, and have no desire to acquire any other brand. Congratulations on attaining those. Also, lovely setting Satpaul!

Garry~

Garry thanks for the support, I enjoy it
full gulps. I recapped the crossover on Vulkan about a month ago, so it's still unfolding in finer detail. It's getting better every day. I'm happy! Best regards, Pavel

Be well! So after more than a month. What was a month ago is already in the past. Because now it plays two levels better. Highs soft and smooth mids wonderful bass dry short and accurate + fast. The space is wider and deeper. I'm curious how it will play after the recap. Well, I'm probably going crazy!!! Otherwise, to everyone: Happy and healthy New Year!!! Wishes from Pavel

Greetings. I am waiting for the parts, when they arrive I will recap the MX-1 and CX-2. Regards, Pavel.

So the recap is done for both the MX-1 and CX-2. First of all, thank you to AK member Bratwurst7s. He helped me a lot. His threads about the Yamaha recap are incredibly detailed and informative.

First I took the MX-1 apart. Pavel

Then I found out that the relay was bad and I replaced it with a new one. Pavel

I replaced all the electrolytes on the right and left sides of the power amp. There was a tip from Bratwurst7s with a heatsink bolted to the sub-console. We fixed it. A new M3 thread was made into the heatsink and bolted in with M3 stainless steel screws. Pavel

I put it all together. I measured the electrolytes of the power supply. Everything seems to be fine. Pavel

Then I focused on the speaker terminals. First I made a board according to the dimensions of the Bratwurst7s. Beautiful work, it fits exactly. Then I made it from the original terminals. I think it's great. Pavel

Thanks James for the support. It's playing better and better. I expect it to be even better after 2 weeks. It's so smooth and clean and the dynamics are beautiful. Pavel.
