Yamaha MX-1 + CX2

A little longer...

It was done: Replacing all elites. Replacing all OPs with OPA1642 in the lines. For MC Head 1/2 OPA1656 2/2 OPA1642. I strongly recommend cleaning all switches! The entanglement of signal wires brought better spacing on MC and MM and CD. And a complete cleaning. I don't know if I forgot something if you ask. It plays incredibly well, I recommend this upgrade. DONE.

I was just listening today and I have to say that I have a completely different preamp and amplifier.Pavel ;)

And thanks to AK member Bratwurst7s, because I was very inspired by his thread.Pavel ;)
Very nice work Pavel, looks beautiful!

This is the first time that I have seen photos of the insides of a CX-2 so your thread is very interesting to me. Also, nice work cutting the M3 threads in the MX-1 heat sinks.:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Now I listened to Metallica Black Album just for a test. Because I adjusted the MC preamp input on my MC-9. When measuring the MC l+p channel it was 28.7 Ohm so I adjusted the input impedance on the MC preamp input to 270 Ohm. And bingo what an improvement!!! I read here on AK that 10x the resistance on the input impedance of the MC preamp is ideal. I guess so, it plays 100% better.

So after 20 days of playing CX-2,MX-1:
At first I found only minor differences in listening, but yesterday there was a turning point in the ignition of the new components and a huge leap in sound!!! Now it sounds incredible. Words cannot describe it, just two to three classes higher!!! Amazing, amazing sound presentation. It expanded into the width, depth of the image. Treble, midrange, bass... incredibly sweet...
