I have a complete MX-A5000 that has been torn down for parts if you need anything.Found it!!!
thank you... I'll start testing it tomorrow see if it goes in protection mode, spent all day removing it from my rack.I have a complete MX-A5000 that has been torn down for parts if you need anything.
I don't think the unit protection is a result of something connected to the unit. More than likely it is a failure in one of the output channels.I'll start testing it tomorrow see if it goes in protection mode
Were you able to fix the problem? How did you reset the cpu? I have an MX-A5200 doing the same thing.
No. Yamaha replaced the 5000 with a 5200 at no charge. Were you able to fix the problem?
Over Power Protection: Thermal Overload or Power Supply issueCan someone please help me with the service manual. Hifiengine won't allow any new users accounts in their system unfortunately. My unit flashes for 3 times when I turn it on and switches it self off. I have tried pressing the SW85 switch to reset and it is still the same result. It won't reset the CPU. Greatly appreciate your help.
How did you reset CPU? I have same issue THM/OLV error.I am happy to post that I followed the instruction to reset the CPU, now I have full sound. One item still an issue is the cooling fans are not running. Therefore that error code in memory of THM/OLV protection detected excessive heat in the output.
What code did you get?Just in case anyone else comes across this thread looking for how to reset the unit, I've found holding the reset button and plugging the power in does seem to reset the unit. Obviously whatever caused the issue is likely still present, in my case it might work for a few days before whatever the issue is manifests and the amp dies again.... :/
If anyone can DM me with the service manual from HiFi Engine that would be super!

More than likely an amplifier board failed.I hadn't expected a reply to this old thread so thanks for responding!
The code this page refers to, I assume this when you turn the unit on before it powers itself off? If so I get 3 flashes then it shuts down.
I did also generate this code but I'm not sure what to make of it
The manual is to large to send via dm. It will need to be sent via emailI hadn't expected a reply to this old thread so thanks for responding!
