Yamaha R-900, Sansui G 3500 and 7070 comparison

I hope I am not comparing apples and oranges.
The reason I am comparing is cos of all three are available for reasonable prices with Yamaha the cheapest. Sansui's market rate are already high in general, regardless of its model. I am more inclined for Sansui 7070 which is available for about 350. G 3500 is for 200, but I have read that 7070 it is one of the best receiver for the price range. All three are available in a good working condition.

For Yamaha R 900, if it is a good receiver with good, clear, musical and warm sound (is it?), I was thinking of buying for really cheap (available for ~50 bucks) in working condition and use Cambridge 651p preamp to boost the clarity if needed? Not still sure if it work the way i am imagining.

I am confused if investing in Cambridge 651 and a mid end Yamaha R 900 which will be about 300 of the spending will be a good idea or simply spending on Sansui 7070 will be a better option?
Does 7070 or G3500 sounds really better (more musical and warm) than Yamaha R 900? Or they are comparable? The price difference in Yamaha and Sansui is huge (almost of 250 bucks). That saves a big chunk for me to spend further on a decent subwoofer or a preamp like 651p.
P.S- Using mainly for my turntable (Shure 97ex MM) with Yamaha RX v475 and BS 22LR Pioneer speakers.

Spend $50 on the Yammie and call it a day. The value/performance ratio is off the charts! Good amp, good preamp, good variable phono section. This will allow you plenty of money to update/refurb it, if needed. I own many Sansui pieces and they are lovely and probably more collectible, but for shear value, get the Yammie.

I see that this thread is over a month old, but if you bought the Yamaha and need any parts for it, you are welcome to one that has 1 smoked channel. Still lots of good parts, and is/was in very good cosmetic condition. Just sitting on a shelf, partially dis-assembled.
