Yard sale find today! Need some info and advice please

The best time of the year! Yard sale season!
Let us know how the system sounds once you have it set up.
Tested it in the dining room last night just to make sure it works and I haven't had much test time, but they seem pretty solid with a lot of clarity so far

I heard the new ohm's at the NY Audio show last fall, and they were fantastic! Did you pull the grills? I'm not familiar with Ohm speakers. Do these have foam surrounds?

Another member advised I not open them up till I absolutely have to since the omnidirectional setup is bolted in place, and there's a warning on them not to pull the grill under the speaker cover or risk damaging them

The Walsh 2 speakers have cloth doped surrounds . No re cone necessary . They can be upgraded to the latest spec the 2000s
I have a short set of 2-2000s sitting on a pair of subs ohm 004.JPG Great speakers . You did well enjoy.

Ohm Walsh 4 and 2 in my home theater. ;)

Ohm makes fantastic speakers! Walsh 2s should not need any repairs.

Be sure to place them with the Ohm badges on the insides. This points the tweeters inward.

Found a pair of Ohm Walsh2 speakers at a yard sale today with an onkyo a65 receiver for 45 bucks. I'm not at all familiar with these speakers and I'd Like to know what sounds good on them, any personal experiences, proper power, if they're junk, etc. They were covered with duck dynasty stickers that i just removed with a hairdryer lol. Thanks all!

My Ohm Walsh 3s quickly became one of my favorite speakers. Excellent timbre and they do so much well. I prefer mine about 3-4 feet from walls and with the felt removed. The crossover is quite complicated to recap, but with patience and some mechanical ability it can be done. IIRC, there is an excellent post here on AK describing a full restoration.

Very difficult to sell quality audio at yard sales for good prices.

He could've used CL or the 'bay with local pickup. Instead he dumped them to make her happy. I was married at the dinner hall at the last supper, so I understand compromise and give/take. His stuff, his loss.

All we see around here is cheap furniture, rusty tools and old clothes. Mostly old clothes.
I agree and that's why I ALWAYS ask if they have any "OLD" speakers, turntables, amplifiers. I've gotten some very nice gear by asking. Often people forget about this stuff packed away in the basement or attic collecting dust.

Ohms are great speakers. I own a pair of Walsh 3s and recently finished restoring the real deal, the Fs. The 3s can't compare to the Fs (those are special), but they're still great speakers and do everything they're asked to do without any complaints. I'm sure the 2s are similar. Nice find and keepers for sure.
