Your favorite "little" receiver ever?

I had an Onkyo TX-20 slimline receiver that I just loved. Not much power, but just a fun little piece. My ex-girlfriend still has it to this day. Lucky girl, haha!
 
Also throw in the old Onkyo receivers. What they did inside the TX-2500 27 wpc unit is overkill. Heat sinks on all the driver transistors and most of the power supply transistors. Plus it is another good sounding one as well. Was a $10 GW score.

I guess my favorite little receiver would have to be a 1973 Toshiba SA 300. If I remember correctly it has 12 Watts per channel and I think it came in either silver or black, mine is black.

About three and a half decades ago (maybe more) I was in a thrift store and just happened to be walking by the door employees use to go into the back room. An employee just happened to walk out the door and when I looked through the open door I seen a little receiver in garbage can, I asked the guy about it and he said they plugged it in and it didn't work so they chucked it out.

Well I said please let me take it off your hands, he said he couldn't give it to me but he could sell it to me for a dollar. So I took it home and it was the first piece of hi fi equipment I repaired and got working. I still listen to from time to time and the little receiver sounds pretty darn good with the right set of speakers.

That is a score. These have become known entities. I own a 2500II and love it. The II bumped to 40 watts.
 
I had a Sansui mini system in my tiny NYC apartment when I got my first place (no roommate) likely 1981 or so. Wish I kept it but alas it is long gone.... tuner, integrated amp, cassette deck. Was about 1 cubic foot total. Ran old Jensen speakers that were pretty good sized, I added a kd3070 which I kept until late 90’s.
 
I picked up an NAD 7120 as an afterthought because I thought it might be good to give to my parents, but ended up really liking it.. then bought a second one. Others have more pop, and more functions, but it just puts out great sound including a nice phono pre-amp as well.

Now giving one to parents and keeping one for my home office!
 
I once ran a Kenwood KR-710 receiver as a secondary system. It was pushing old "Ultralinear" brand 3 way speakers. For 28WPC it was a great sounding piece with a solid tuner, for very little money. It is early 80s vintage.
 
Marantz 2215b and the Pioneer SX-450. Both perfect late night listening companions.

I actually prefer the sound of the 2215b to a 2270 I once owned (sold years ago). Both were fully restored.

The SX-450 sounds way smoother than my SX-650, both fully restored. Go figure. At low volumes, it gave my SX-1010 a serious run for the money.
 
my first reciever was a sherwood s7050 at 10 watts gave it away to get more power what a mistake was a unappreciated gem learned alot since 1974
