turnitup
No, the stereo won’t break the crystal...Oh CRAP!
7 up actually sold those. Came with a wagging filament. I got one for Christmas when I was a kid. I loved that damn thing.
Mine’s still wagging away, 50+ years later (breath held)!

View attachment 2744814Picked this up for cheap at auction earlier this year. Of course the proper chimney cost me way more than the lamp! This is my fourth or fifth.
Aladdins are cool. I have one for power outage lighting. Wouldn't mind a couple more. I need a spare mantle though. I had one but it was located somewhere within the dog's reach and she ate it.
for anyone not familiar with these, its an oil fired mantle lantern. Round wick, but the only thing the flame does is heat the mantle to make it glow, the fire doesn't actually produce much light on it's own. Absolutely silent too, unlike my propane lanterns.

Should be able to get flickering bulbs seen some at lowesLucky. Mine died in a couple of months.
Now that’s bling !Here's a few!View attachment 2746894
I don't miss that "wood smoke" @ So Cal either. It was hell @ (brief) "winters" in Santa Barbara, as whatever noxious fumes emitted caused no end of respiratory discomfort. Whatever type/variety of wood they burn in France does not provoke a similar reaction.
Font looks like a Rayo. Circular wick, very usable light for power outages. I confess to having 5 of these things!View attachment 2744814Picked this up for cheap at auction earlier this year. Of course the proper chimney cost me way more than the lamp! This is my fourth or fifth.
If genuine, you have a gold mine there. I'd get appraisal & insure it accordingly-if you haven't yet. Seriously.I usually just have this Tiffany lamp on.
I brought it home from my MIL's house when she passed 7 years ago and it seems like a nice fit.

I feel yer pain. I'm looking at 2 in my living room, one with new, unburned mantle, one needs a mantle. Plus a couple more upstairs, same deal. When they can be found, they're damn expensive & once lit are super fragile. I'll stick with the Rayos & flat-wick lamps. Wicks still available, but they last a looong time if burned properly.Power went last night, center draft lamps are great to have around. Picked up an Aladdin a while back and found that the mantles are impossible to get.

And that price is nuckin' futs. Add shipping & it's even more so. When they were under $20, it was borderline feasible to run Aladdin lamps. Now, if they could be ruggedized to the point one needn't worry about breaking one while trying to light the damn thing, the current price MIGHT be justifiable. But Aladdin lamps are cool, even if just for decorative purposes these days.There are a bunch of listings on "The 'Bay" for Aladdin mantles, this is one that is a representative of what I saw ;
