Your Latest Additions (LP)......

The honey hole thrift store struck again. Like last time I was looking for a component stand but found these. Well I didn't find them they were held and brought out for me. Which I don't actually like but the woman behind the counter told me a couple dealers have been buying everything and complaining about not getting discounts on 2 buck sealed NOS stock. So the thrift is now holding the NOS records back and only getting them out for customers they "like".

I picked up a bunch

The Ruby Suns - Christopher
Psychic Twins - Strange Diary
My Iron Lung - Relief
Past Lives - Strange Symmetry
The Mynabirds - Lovers Know
Jo Passed - Their Prime
Renforshort - Dear Amelia
Band Of Horses - Things Are Great
American Wrestlers - Goodbye Terrible Youth
Laura Veirs - My Echo
So Pitted - Neo
Magik Markers - Surrender To The Fantasy
Charly Bliss - Supermoon
The Go Team - Proof Of Youth
Dopamines, The - Hard Pass (singles/rarities 2006-2020)
Ali Barter - Hello, I'm Doing My Best
and the 7" flexi comp
Smuggler's Way Flexi-zine

Went to an ES and based on the gear the former owner was an Audiophile. There was some vinyl there which included some Mo-Fi and Analogue Production reissues. Much of the titles were well below their market value so I picked up a few titles as well as about 30 SACD’s

Holy moly, that is a haul. What kind of sacd's did you get?

Most of the SACDs were Classical titles that probably had a average value of about $15 though there were a couple that have resale value much greater than that. There was also a SACD of "In a Silent Way" and "Alison Kraus and Union Station Live" which I love. The nice thing was that because of the volume I was able to get them all for $1.40 each. :)

I've had a couple notable additions lately.

First one being the most recent reissue of the 2LP variant of The Funeral of Being by Xasthur on purple marbled vinyl. The OG pressing is expensive nowadays so I jumped on the opportunity to not pay $100+ for a copy.

The second being the Jimmy Franks 2LP release of HIM's Razorblade Romance. I know cheaper copies are available if one wants to take the risk with warped vinyl but I opted to pay more for some piece of mind when I set it on the turntable. Other than a small discoloration on side B from the pressing plant (which I thought was a white sticker at first until I held it to a light) it plays flawlessly.

The only other record I'm currently waiting on is my preorder for the reissue of Xasthur's Suicide in Dark Serenity EP on transparent mint vinyl which still has over a month until release. I own the original Bestial Onslaught release but I figured having a backup wouldn't be such a bad move.

I forgot to buy some record cleaning fluid, yesterday. Yes I know this is AK and we don't buy fluid here but I'm not a mixologist so I buy fluid. I went out looking at alternative places as the closest record store was closed and I didn't feel like a two hour round trip back to my buddies shop so I hunted the Targets and Walmarts and the mall (local store that does RSD even though they don't carry anything but old copies of Whipped Cream and other Delights and the like, Vintage Stock, FYE) none had cleaning fluid. I didn't even realize it but all the targets near me now only carry the Target exclusives. Huh. I have a feeling the price increases lately mean the big retail shops can't get stuff made at the price points they want.

Anyway, at the mall between the three stores I picked up these.

Matador At 21 (Various Artists)
The Vandals - Hollywood Potato Chip
The Thermals - Hey You b/w White Rabbit
Royal & The Serpent - How To Grow A Rat
Pup - This Place Sucks Ass

Guess tomorrow I'll head up to my friends shop again. Probably buy another record or two.

I spent the credit I received for working at my friends record store, on the 14th, today. So I guess this could be posted in the score section too? Ha.

Cold War Kids - New Age Norms 1
Chelsea Williams – Boomerang
The Thermals - We Disappear
The Go! Team - Thunder, Lightning, Strike
The Promise Ring - Wood/Water
Soccer Mommy - Sometimes, Forever
Yard Act – The Overload
Jawbox – Jawbox
Jay Reatard – Watch Me Fall
Texas Is The Reason – Do You Know Who You Are?
Thick – Happy Now
Icon For Hire – The Reckoning
Kill Rock Stars - 30th anniversary label comp

Picked it all for 98 bucks after the credit. I don't even consider working at the shop as work since I usually spend the whole day there anyway. That must be what it feels like to work at something you love. If only.

Texas Is The Reason and Yard Act were the big picks. Texas Is The Reason had been in the store since 2020 but somehow I missed it every time.

Bought a collection of 600 lps. Most are now sorted and put away. Seller was going a different direction and was done.

I haven't posted up my Black Friday stuff, or the 200 dollar Polyvinyl purchase, but I figured I post up two records I just picked up that I know nobody here will care about.

Yugo Kanno – Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind O.S.T Overture
Shiro Sagisu – TV Animation Bleach Original Soundtrack Vol 1-2

Yesterday I pre-ordered Techno Animal's last album Brotherhood of the Bomb from Relapse Records. When I saw Relapse was re-releasing the album on vinyl with the full tracklist I couldn't hand over the $37 fast enough. One of the biggest disappointments about the original vinyl was that it omitted 4 tracks and one of them was my favorite track on the album "Hell feat. Dalek"

I also purchased the "friends and family only" clear variant of Techno Animal's 2nd album Re-Entry from Discogs. I initially passed on getting the album when it was in stock due to the high cost but given the fact that it's the only Techno Animal album I don't own on vinyl and Relapse claims there will be no more pressings of this 4LP version I decided to go for it before it becomes unobtainable.
