Thanks guys! As soon as I got them done I used them to play the music at my nephew's wedding. WOW! I used my Vintage STR7055 Sony receiver to power them. It's rated at 45w per channel into 8 ohms, and I only had the volume cranked 1/4 of the way up. Plenty loud. Very clean.

I thought you might like to check out my econowaves. I just got done with them, although I have a little tweaking to do. Thank you to all the guys who gave me good advice on these and from this thread. I used Selenium D210Ti drivers with JBL waveguides and Dayton Classic 10" woofs.

Speaking of S99, there in the hizzouse!
Looks like either the P-Audio 416 or the 18sound XD-120 will fit right where the
old tweet was and still leave room for the old port!
Add about 10" to bottom of the cab, should get me about 3 cubic feet tuned to
roughly 33hz utilizing the old port tuning just the way it is.
Should make for a fairly easy upgrade and a nice speaker I think/hope!

Very nice work Woofman. You are shaming me into fabrication mode. Are these the first cabinets you have built?
Ohhhh! So the S-99-e-wave cabinet has a hole in the bottom to match that in the top of the pedestal??? Makes the total encloded volume bigger, eh? :tresbon: Much to learn, there is.
Maybe I E-wave the L-50 with the 127H-1's on the shelf then build NEW boxes for a E-wave LE14 combo? Interior box dimensions of about 12" wide x 18" deep x 30" tall = 3-3/4 cf?

There's also a 1/2" spacer between the top and bottom sections, recessed all around, to refine the look. If I were smart, I'd do the calcs and make that a slot-loaded port tuning them to ~30 Hz.... :yes:
S99s came mirror-imaged, and I believe Kegger said he got a pair of those, Dave.... :guitar:

Thank you. No, i've built many, many speakers in the past. It's been quite a while though. I felt pretty rusty getting back in it.

OK, I'm becoming a bit confused. For a two-way E-wave/LE14 combo, what box volume should I be seeking? I'm seeing conflicting opinions in various places. If I tune too low won't the LE14 roll off too far below the e-wave???:scratch2:

No, high frequency extension is unaffected by the box tuning.
IIRC, the LE14 has been used successfully in a variety of enclosures from about 2.5 to 4.5 cubic feet.

Yes, seems it logical to me that the high freq driver is not affected by the box. I was more concerned that I might tune the box & woofer too low, thereby creating a gap (high bass or low midrange?) or depression below the effective range of the e-guide. Am I wrong in assuming that there is only a given amount of bandwith (x octaves) available for any given driver? If this were a three driver system I would assume that you could take the low freq driver to the basement knowing you would use a midrange driver to bridge the gap to the hi freq driver?:scratch2:
Yes, I wasn't sure all of them involved the e-wave 2-way configuration. Would there be a case within the home hi-fi, e-wave, 2-way context where the 4.5 cf box would be less desirable than the 2.5 cf box? I'm trying to avoid the "a little is good so too much must be enough" syndrome:scratch2:

Yes your thinking incorrectly, tuning the box lower or higher has no effect on the drivers ability to play
high frequencies, in otherwords no it will not effect the bandwidth of the driver except that it can play
lower in a larger box tuned lower.

Rosso- Enclosures are dead-easy; particularly for and engineer. 12" woofer and first-time cab-build: 6 cubic foot box tuned to 28hz using 2 3" wide ports and 3/4" wood. Ports: 6" long, box- 24" wide x 37" tall x 15" deep, stuffing along the sides and back, a few braces and triple-thick baffle.

I haven't had the time to sit down and do any critical listening yet, but I did use them to play dance music at my nephews wedding reception and I was quite pleased. Very smooth and detailed.......as good as I could tell with dance music cranked. But my initial impression is quite good.
By the way, I'm impressed with those beauties of yours. I'll bet they sound great.
