Yep Zilch, I am being careful. The EWG gets too shouty before the woof hits it's excursioin.

Squid, I am going to gather all my crossovers tomorrow and see what I have to work with. That is a good idea as buying them all new from PE is a chunk of change.

These things, despite the hole in back and wrong xo, still sound mighty fine. They are deffenetly keepers. Its saturd-day sos i don'ts hav to spel rite.

I'll see what I've got and bring you some parts tomorrow if I have extras. IIRC, I don't have those inductor values on hand. I do have every crossover cap known to man and thousands of resistors. If you can scrounge some 8 Ohm Lpads, maybe you'll end up just ordering teh chokes. If I need them also, well there's a group buy of 8 items. Plus I owe you a buck seventy five for the horns.

(EDIT) I found all of the R's and C's you'll need. I don't have the inductors.

I heard those speakers today and he's right. They sound very fine and show a lot of promise once they have more appropriate crossovers and the woofer cab is sorted out. I thought it was cool that with the EWG on top of the cabinet the fabric 'cover' - you can't call it a grille because it covers the whole top of the speaker - covered the EWG as well, making the speaker look stock.
This was the first time I had heard the EWG extensively with music, in a stereo pair. They do have the high sensitivity speaker immediacy and dynamics that I was hoping to find.

I just ordered crossover chokes so we can get some networks built here shortly.
 
I have a good sized chunk of it I plan on using in my round PE waveguides. From people who have used it, they say that it is more effective in lesser horns, but I have a gut feeling that the EWGs could be positively impacted. I bought mine from a local source, I'll check if they have a web presence.

I noticed the firm I linked to gives samples for those interested. They don't post prices, but the sell large "chunk" sheets. I'm unlikely to be a good foam whittler.

I get the stuff locally from a place called Foam 'n More. They sell it as filter medium and speaker grille foam. There's a link to it in a thread on foam speaker grilles.
I'll try and find it.

How would you form that? Rolling into a plug?

I think it would be important to maintain consistent density. As for the shape, would you think it matters? The object is to turn HOMs to heat, not physically dampen the horn....right?

I will soon. Not yet, though. To create the plug, trace the horn profile (for you EWGers, you need side and top profiles) and create your layers with the correct profile cut away from each layer. I'm starting with 4" and probably will end up with 6".
