    sorry got it, it was much more than a firm yank, it was a pull it as hard as i can and in doing so used so much force that when it released i almost fell over backwards type yank

    tapping didn't work. it appears that the platter moves up about a half a centimeter then stops. It also appears that the spindle is moving with it when i lift it, rather than the platter sliding independently of the spindle.

    Altec Speakers

    Hey I was wondering if anyone knew anything about the altec Capri 887a speakers I found at an estate sale for $40. Currently I'm using klipsch Kg-2's. I'm a Novice speaker person as well. Should I grab the Altecs or stick with klipsch?
