Best quality surrounds for New Advent Large

Rick Cobb sells under the name looneytoon2001 on E-Bay. I have purchased several kits from him and all have been excellent. I did a pair of (ok, I took them to Sir.Byrd) Advents last month and the surround are perfect.

I get all my surrounds from Rick Cobb. I just did a pair of new large advents. They are very easy to re-foam and get centered.

Is it okay to have a small gap between the cone and the foam ? I applied glue to the cone and basket only and centered the foam the best I could. There is a gap between the roll and the cone, so now I'm worried, but its all dry and sounds fine to me.

If you mean "space" instead of "gap" (gap implies an open area) between where the cone edge ends and the roll starts (you did put the surround under the edge of the cone right?), it's no big deal. As long as the VC doesn't rub, you are good.

EDIT: Actually, space isn't the best word either. You mean there's a little flat area between the cone edge and the roll right? In other words, the roll is not butting right up against the edge of the cone. No problem.

Exactly, an area void of cone that is probably insignificant. VC does not rub, I used Rick's 30Hz disc while glue was still wet. Cone has been pounding with music since 10:00 am and seems to be solid. Foam under the cone BTW

I think you should get them from Zilch. He sends them with individual performance charts for each surround!
