These arrived on my porch yesterday. I was a bit concerned about the condition of the boxes, but the speakers were very well packaged. So far I can only comment on build quality, because I had too much to do and didn’t get the chance to run them through their paces. These speakers are...
I've got a pair of old Model 5s that I'll be restoring. Not impressed with the interior wiring and in addition to recapping (and maybe replacing the iron-core inductors with air-core), I think I'll replace the interior wiring with 16awg OFC or OCC, and prolly be silver-soldering the leads...
I have searched the interwebs high and low and can't find anything like these. There is no model number or wattage or other info on the back, just the front "Reference" nameplate. I almost wonder if they're custom speakers in a KLH cabinet?

Hello Klh Yogis,
I picked up a pair of KLH 12’s and I’m ready to recap them. I’ve recapped 5’s, 6’s, and 17’s so I’m pretty okay with the process.
Does anyone know the Caps that I’ll need, and any other information to help make these sing? At the moment they sound like crap - and it’s...
Hi, thought I was finishing up a successful Model 5 recap, 1st one was great and sounds terrific. On the second one the cover was complete and begat to reassemble...cover back in, sealed, replace putty on midrange, reinstalled mid range all good. Put the tweeter in (I know it worked prior, after...
So...this is a pretty novice question on my part but people here have been such a huge help so here I am to ask about replacing resistors. I've recapped the Model 17, 23 and 6 but have never replaced the resistors so far. I'm about to recap a Model 5 and it replacing the caps doesn't worry me...
Hi All,
Scored a pair. In fairly good shape, all drivers work, but of course surrounds are gone. I tried to find replacements on an auction site - results seem to be conflicting. Some call for 6 inch foams and others for 6 1/2inch. Looking at the specs - they have 6inch woofers. However...
Hello AK users,
I am looking for input on KLH speakers. I currently own a pair of Model 23s. THEY ARE GREAT!! (to my ear)
I haven't re-sealed the surrounds or replaced the crossovers in them and they still sound great. (I shelved my Dynaco A25s in favor of the KLH 23s).
I have read that I...
I found a pair of KLH Model 5s at my local goodwill for $14.99 a while back.

I recapped them over the winter, made some stands (each filled with 25lbs of cat litter) for them in the spring, and finally got around to refinishing...
i recently came a cross a pair of said model, and the info out there is less than lacking.
i've seen a few posts on this site about the model 3's and one about the model 9, but the posts just trail off and no real information was ever definitively stated.
if anyone has any idea to the value...
Hi All!
Short term lurker here with my first post.
Recently got into the audio game and started scouring CL. Found a set of speakers needing some TLC, Jensen Model 5's for $20 and thought they were good candidates for my first refurbish.
Just went ahead redid the cabinets with Howard's...
Edit: I originally had the title of the thread as Model 3, but after determining they are Model 5, I asked the Admin to change it. Since starting this thread, it has turned into more of a Beveridge speaker history thread than just a Model 5 restore discussion (starting around page 7). All of the...
