Why cant threads just be locked like they are on other forums if they get heated? Then at least the information provided on the thread stays. Seen on other forums the negative posts are removed and the thread stays either as it was and continues or is locked so it wont accept further posts but it can be read. Re Needletein, I dont know why he was banned, but I enjoyed his posts too. If he did something wrong maybe he was having a bad day maybe something in his life outside the forum had gone wrong and he had a bad moment or two on the forum. Maybe long time members like Needlestein should be given a temporary ban of a week or two time to reflect rather than an outright ban? Dont want to let this get off topic but felt I should respond at least as it is sad we lost the other thread and its info...Why was the last thread scuttled anyway? As a subscriber who recently paid to join the board, it bothers me a ton that threads like that are gone, AND on a related note that one of my favorite posters Needlestein has been dumped from AK. He was one of the prime contributors who made this a DIY-friendly and budget-friendly place. Really bad mojo.
Other posters have also made the excellent point that almost every post includes price data on buys of posters, especially when they got a good (or bad) deal out there in the world.
There is no risk of deletion, just a move to the Dollars and Sense forum as has been suggested by several members.
Regards,
Jim

As a several year member, and long-time AK reader even before that, it bothers me, too. A vast amount of information was lost to the forum. For me personally, it easily amounts to more than 20% of the value of Audiokarma to me. It is one thing to determine that a member needs to be removed, but yet another thing to deal a dastardly blow to others who have participated in conversations with that person, not to mention others who relied on information in those hundreds of postings. This reflects very badly on the Audiokarma Forum, and is rather heartbreaking to me, and I believe also to several others, who have been devoted members for a long time and who find it totally unbelievable that so much valuable content could be deleted from these forums with apparently so little thought about the consequences to all participants, not just to one targeted for discipline.
I also hope that it is clear that I am bending over backwards to be as nice as I can possibly be about this situation.
