Good point and appreciate all the insight. If I remember correctly, I simply put a lead on the chassis and held the other one in my hand. It read exactly 5.6v
I first noticed it when I had the cover off and reached behind to grab something and my forearm ran across the right back corner. Its kinda sharp there, so at first I thought it was a just the sharpness of the corner piece, but I knew it was a voltage. But then hooking up a little Marantz tuner I really felt it, then decide to measure.
Some initial research said possibly the lead for the panel lights (5,6V) may be pinched and shorting to ground and I still need to investigate that because the lights are actually a bit faint compared to my other 2000. I'm fairly certain the voltage, while problematic and certainly annoying as heck, isn't lethal.
I do admit, I usually come here first to get some perspective and helpful hints from the community on odd things like this. I'm actually surprised that my initial basic search showed nothing regarding the 2000 and said issue. It just seems like if I'm seeing it, someone before me certainly has as well.
