2026 Winter Olympics

I'm a big fan of watching lots of the sports that are part of the winter Olympics..all the alpine skiing, any bobsled, luge, or skeleton event..stuff like that. I prefer sports that are black and white when it comes to winning a.k.a. a race and not something judged. That being said I do like the 1/2 pipe and aerials.
I never fail to be amused by how popular figure skating and curling become for a couple of weeks once every four years after being essentially ignored.

Kudos to anyone willing to work hard enough to become competitive at the Olympic level no matter the sport.

With some of the events it seems a bit like they are just trying to come up with more to have more. We get to see them do the competition individually and then the same thing as a 'team' event. I guess it gives people more choices, but with just broadcast for watching it, they leave out a lot of events and instead we get to see them doing the same thing in multiple qualifications and multiple semi-finals and then the finals and then again as a team or side by side.

I guess they are also pushing people towards subscriptions because instead of showing different events in the middle of the night on broadcast they often rerun what they showed during the day. That said, we recorded everything and still have a fair amount left to watch from it.

Also, I know they want to keep the audience tuned in but in a lot of events they spend the entire time talking about a home athlete being the one to watch and hyping them up until I'm tired of hearing their name and then when they compete they come in 12th.
