2230 Restoration - testing MPX Stereo board

I finished recapping P300 - MPX Stereo board and wanted to test it before reinstalling P150 (which I totally disconnected and removed).

Is that possible or should I really reconnect everything?

I usually don't remove P150 - just a couple of the tight wires. But the last unit I did, I had to spend a lot of time with P300, so I removed P150, taped the ends of all of the wires, and did my P300 testing with that board out. So you can do it if you keep anything from shorting.

Thank you Steven - that's exactly what I was looking for. I will tape them good and give it a try. I can't imagine working on the P300 without removing P150, it's just too tight and I am afraid my iron will hit something it shouldn't.

Holy crap what a difference it makes! I am now pulling strong signal with stable stereo, which it wasn't as much before.

There wasn't a "problem" exactly, other than the stereo was unstable the light flickering, and it didn't sound quite right. I might have gotten lucky that a recap made such a difference. Something similar happened with the tone board - a recap made it sound way better than before. These WIMA caps, I am telling you...
