Thanks man, that really made my day. This is more of a hobby for me but I enjoy the opportunity to go to the extreme on a unit like this. I won't be able to keep it, so it needs to last another 30 years. I agree there are many good techs out there but unfortunately most of the work I get locally is from guys who bought restored units that died. Deoxit + LED upgrade does not equal restored.this is just a observation of a tech at his work ,The patience you have shown on a 45 year old monster is beyond what I have seen and experienced in the past 10 -15 years.to many people todays techs are like zenith TV techs. pull are card out put a new one in.It was a joy to see the play by play of the work being performed and all the problems figured out. there are just not enough people out there that will put the time and effort into vintage products .I am just a little reseller of mostly Marantz ,so when I see a project like this I know there is hope for most of the 60s and 70s gear .thank you for showing a lot of folks out there how its done .I know there are others with the same talent ,its just a joy to see this level of work still being done .Bravo on a project well done.
:tresbon:Haha, thanks. I should probably mention that my wife is from Vermont and her family lives there. My wife has been here 10 years and she is very much looking forward to going back. Here's hoping the move will make your life all the more pleasant!
Besides we need a good tech in that area no doubt.![]()
