Uh, yah - was there too !

San Francisco, just out of the Navy about three months, living in an old house on Army and Valencia St. with friends. That's where I had my Altec A7's and McIntosh MC30 mono tubes amps. Man, we use to rock that old house.

Second story apt on the corner of Lyon and I can't remember (in SF). Spent a lot of time in that town in those years. I was 20 that year so you know what SF was like and what we were doing, even if I can't quite remember how the dots connected

I was doing a lot of things based on the false assumption that OTHER people got killed and/or arrested.

What dots........all I can remember is colors.....lots of colors, :D and smiling 'til your cheeks hurt. :lmao: Oh yea. I remember.

Three West Pac cruises aboard the USS Coral Sea. We steamed with the Kitty Hawk more than once up in the Gulf of Tonken.

We use to play that Doors album on a reel to reel down in the After Gyro.

I hate to admit it, but 40 years ago seems like yesterday when you get to thinking about it. Life is short. Make hay while the sun shines.

It was a long time ago, jdandy. Didn't the Constellation and the Ranger, and maybe the Oriskany (sp) cruise with us? I went to boot camp (Great Lakes) with some of the Enterprise guys.

Where were you during the Pueblo Incident?

Rick

16--Got my drivers license, wheels, girls-well sorta-thought of girls all the time. Started working at Dad's auto shop, drove lots of different cars, thought of more girls. Oh that list of music? ALL of those are favorites-have on 8-tracks that have gummy rollers:pity:

The Pueblo Incedent (bombing of a US Navy vessel, killing one sailor and capturing and imprisoning 82 sailors for 11 months) was January 1968.

I was aboard the USS Coral Sea, in the Gulf of Tonken just off the coast of Viet Nam. Our air squadrons were bombing and napalming the hell out of the VC day and night. We finally steamed back under the Golden Gate Bridge in April of '68. I was honorably discharged and walked off the after brow of the Coral Sea in May of 1968.

Where were you in August 1968?

I had just come home from serving 15 months in Korea, in the Army.

Didn't exist!

I was eleven and stunningly ignorant about things like music. My only exposure to such things was sitting around the tv with the folks and watching Ed Sullivan.

My older sisters were paying attention to music, but I didn't really discover the radio and pop music until 1970.

And what a long, strange trip it's been since then...

Dreaming of Playboy mag. Instead getting excited with.. Allied..Heathkit and La fe eit (sp) mags.
Ceramic cartridge at 20 grams.
Packerbell with 6aq5s

I was a sixth grader at St. Francis Xavier on the north side of Chicago. Bought my first records that year. Watched the west side go up in fire after King's assassination, and took in the 68 convention live on tv. The whole world is watching, the whole world is watching.

That's so cool, jdandy, you experienced it. Our squadron and the Hawk where there, too. You probably remember better than I do.

"Living across the country from my home town (N. Babylon, NY)"

I was three and living in North Babylon NY. Small world eh?

I remember sitting in my front yard playing with a beach pail that had flowers on it. One of the teenage neighbors came by and said my bucket had "flower power". That's my hippy moment from 1968. I can't beleive I still remember that.
