That's how I handled it. It's not that the mini HBs are bad sounding, but P90s sound so good in a Lester, any Lester. I've A~B'd '56 and '57 (and a couple '58s and '59s) LPs and almost always come away prefering the P90 equipped examples. This goes for the SG series, too. Gimme a Junior or, better still, Special anytime over a so-called "standard" or Custom.

In any event, your project looks to be coming along very well, please continue posting updates as it nears, ultimately reaches, completion.

When I removed the old finish, there was no separation at all. Everything is solid. I'm not sure when the finish started doing that, but it had 41 years to do it. It's a shame that I had to remove the old finish, but I had too many areas of damage to evaluate.
