I will not presume to caution You about the potential hazards of the Phase Linear amp but for the benefit of other less experienced users reading this who might pick one up ( They will need a truss afterwards).... They need to be aware that the Phase Linear amp had deservedly earned the nickname of "The Flame Linear" in some circles for their annoying tendency to unceremoniously cause speakers attached to them to burst into flames
without apparent provocation.
To be fair those instances of speaker immolation typically occurred under extreme use. The paranoia building aspect was that the amp had typically been used as hard or even harder driving the same speakers without incident and so when der scheize hit the fan who the hell was standing by with an extinguisher ??
I vaguely recall reading that the components responsible for this unfortunate tendency had been identified and later Phase Linears were not subject to this rather unpleasant tendency.
As near as I can recall the problem was related to an internal failure that could result in the Phase Linear sending out a sustained blast of its full power ( 350 +/-watts/channel ) at 0 Hz. ( ie pure DC) which reportedly played merry hell with most speakers.
All of the above said The Phase Linear is a damned good amp and only a small proportion of the amps ever turned into Flame Linears.
My point is before buying one of these have it safety checked by a competent tech.

What a day. One for the books, and I mean that.
Luther is headed back home with over 1500 watts cont. in his trunk.
I got a few toys also, a Rolls Audio RA2200 amp, Mitsubishi DA-C7 Tuner Preamp, and the find of the day - PS Audio Delta 200.
PS 250 pictured below, mine looks the same, except it has heat sinks down both sides, instead of the rear. Oh yeah, and about 100ft of Horizon 12/2 speaker cable.
