ADS l980 VALUE

Can anyone tell me what would a pair of ADS walnut L980 speakers in excellent condition be valued/worth today AND WHAT SPEAKER AT THAT VALUE WOULD YOU COMPARE THEM TO? PLEASE HELP

Anywhere from $400 to $1,000 depending on their condition and if boxes and stands are included. Also how badly you want them. I have a pair of the first versions in black that are mirror imaged and they sound fantastic. They have the signature ADS tight bass that goes deep for a 12" woofer along with excellent imaging and dynamics. They'd be hard to beat under $600. Check the ADS Reference website for specs.

I also have a pair of JBL 4425 Studio Monitors and they are very comparable to them. I'd take the JBL's over the ADS by a small margin but it's close to a toss up.

I got mine locally for $440, with stands and an extra pair of NIB woofers. That was a pretty good deal, I think the above post is more reflective of true prices/value.
