Advent 2w speakers

Looking for speakers equal to or better than my klh 17 - size and musical quality. Will the Advent 2w deliver? And at risk at getting kicked to the dollar and sense are they price-wise comparable to the KLH 17's?

It is strange that I did a search for these speaker and also any advent speaker and I am coming up with a blank page.

the 17s will stomp the Advent 2w any day of the week. The 2w was not one of Advent's best offerings IMO. The tweeter array was a mistake. It over powers the woofer and images like crazy. Either add additional resistance to the tweeter network to quiet it down, or replace it with a better driver. Some have reported that dayton silk dome tweeters are a good sub for this speaker.

While I agree with Jordan, they don't completely suck, either. If they're cheap enough, they could be fun to play with.

i agree with both guys. i would grab them to play with, but not for serious music duty. background duty, fine. or swap tweeters out.

large or smaller advents would do very well.

If you have an amp that will handle the 4 ohms, I'd go with the smaller Advent to replace your 17s. Better speaker IMO.
