Yes, real 'Corporate Life' has many similarities with scenes of the year 1999 movie 'Office Space', at any level of management or just an ordinary worker in 'Wage Slavery' mode. Millennials, Gen Z, and others currently have to face a PIP (Personal Improvement Plan) due to underachievement or perceived underachievement. Probably someone stole the PIP idea from that movie as a form of Negative Reinforcement, so people work more under the fear of being fired and experience even less motivation..
I've been retired for 15 years, and my wife has been retired for 24.
My wife (the big boss) still gives me an annual performance review, and according to her, my performance needs improvement. Therefore, no raises, no bonuses, no stock options.
I told her I don't care...in fact, I don't have a care in the world!!!
