I found this LP at a thrift SEALED!! 99 cents. It sounds excellent! Anyone else hear this one or hear of it? It has Coryell on two cuts & McLaughlin on one. It was recorded in a studio in Tokyo & pressed by Phillips in France, 1981.

I bought this album yesterday from a record store here in Reading. Its a half speed master (my first ever). It sounds amazing on my Realistic LAB-400! Its almost like these 3 chaps are in my living room!

I recently found the 1981 Sony Master Sound 24k Gold CD used for $15, I snatched it up, as I saw the same thing for $99 on Ebay. It sounds absolutely amazing!

I moved a system to the upstairs bedroom and I listened to the first couple of tracks from Al Di Meola, John McLaughlin, Paco Delucia CD to audition the setup - [MC 2205/Phase Linear 2000 Preamp / Phase Linear Andromeda speakers & sub module] - really nice.

I was just thinking about this record tonight as I'm listening to another McLaughlin title - Where Fortune Smiles. I saw the Santana/McLaughlin concert when they came through Seattle in support of the Love, Devotion... album ...in 1975? Interesting show, my first exposure to A Love Supreme.

I never knew that they toured in support of that album.Man,I'd sacrifice a 'family jewel' to go back in time and see THAT concert. :yes: :thmbsp:

Yeah 73/74 sounds closer. I think I'd summarize the show as "intense". McLaughlin and Santana were dressed in white robes as on the LP cover. I don't know what I was expecting, don't remember alot, but there was plenty of fire from both players, McLaughlin with that doubleneck guitar. It was in the smaller ~3000 seat arena at Seattle Center.

For some reason or another I couldn't make it to that show in Chicago but originally planned on it. I heard Billy Cobham & Jan Hammer both played drums on that tour. I did get to see the orginal Mahavishnu Orchestra in 1973 with Cobham, Hammer, Laird & Goodman, the best band I ever saw. I also saw the 2nd version of M.O. with Jean Luc Ponty twice as well as Shakti and The Guitar Trio. :thmbsp:
