Michael Percy Audio has a few but limitied values.
Their is an audio supply company in Germany.... Family something or other??
PEC is an excellent brand but also not many values.
You might consider TKD brand but that is expensive.

Alps are nice if you can find a real one, but the Precision Electronics Components 100K ohm 2W Carbon Log Pot are truly precision devices. They are very smooth in operation and high quality. I think it is the best choice of what's available, and a step up from the Alps.
Thankyou re the tip on Precision ! - will give them a go - been in business a long time . Newbie question - the Alps pots had two rows of connections - 1 for each channel. I notice the precision has only 1 row of connections - so do connect both channels to this 1 row - or is there a double row pot in the Precision product ?

AHHH - I think I have just answered my question - the KKA1001S28 is a "Dual Element" pot ! ? correct

I know I'm being pedantic here, but "dual gang" is the preferred nomenclature dude.

And to Pio, I'm fairly sure they are tracked. I might pick one up too as I bought a fake ALPS that ended up being a hybrid stepped track. (why anyone would want to do such a thing on a fake is beyond me...)

It was done on some the small genuine carbon trackers for 'feel'. Also, some small ones that look like carbon trackers are switch point with tiny SMD resistors.

Why are you looking at 100k? Ideally the volume pot is going to leave the source effectively unloaded, but considering their output impedance( some tube phono stages excepted) that is not posing an issue even at 10k and the first grid you're delivering this signal to does best with a low impedance source too...so, why 100k? Can you live with 50k? 25k?
cheers,
Douglas
