I've done that. Previously with two couches in my last apt, and currently with about 5 receivers in the closet. Why? For more speaker room!Couches, like receivers, can be stood on their ends for more compacterized storage.

I'd love to have a pair of 19s for that price...they should have called me first before going through all that CL trouble.

I should know by noon if the other guy showed up or not. We got a wicked rain today and who knows, maybe he can't make it.
I did pick up a nice set of BA A150's last night for $50. I already have a pair as well as some 40's, 70's, 100's and 200's, but they are my favorite "bargain" speaker and just can't seem to pass them up. Might stack them in the garage and replace the stacked OLA's.
Good Karma might be coming my way....don't want to hex the deal by talking about it..stay tuned.

It does look like the foam horn surrounds are missing, but that's not surprising after 30 years.

They went, naturally, to the first guy. He drove up from Richmond, VA. Guy was nice enough to call me back and let me know.
I did manage to get some Altec speakers off CL out of an old theater. They were real cheap, but now the seller is in remorse, big time. I feel a little bad, but a deal is a deal. I told him I would give him a pair of home speakers as a consolation. No way I would of considered buying bare components if they were not a bargain. Ah hell, damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Ooph, if the guy who sold you the theater Altec's is a friend, don't let him find out how much they are worth or he will be really remorseful. It's even worse if the guy is your relative.

No, just a seller from CL. He just emailed me and we squared away, no hard feelings. There are some righteous folks out there, and he is one.
Among the group was a pair of 600 b's. The other 2 were different but of the same 50's vintage.
