Altec attenuator

I need a new attenuator for Altec 887a speakers. Can anyone help me figure out how to buy the right replacement?

Typically Altec used a 25 or 30 ohm wirewound potentiometer within that location for many of their crossovers from that era.

A 1 to 3 watt type will suffice for home audio.

You can test your working example by ( first disconnecting the amp and also the tweeter from the circuit, and then ) measuring the resistance of
the pot by putting the test leads onto the two outside tabs of that potentiometer.

I agree with EarlK. Something like this potentiometer should work,
