I too need an eq for my D’s. I’m on the lookout.
Hey PeterSchut, if I want to power these with one amp, it would be preferable to remove that 11k resistor, yes??
And if I bi-amp, using the twin inputs, then not as needed, since I could run the eq only on the low end??

FYI for EV Interface users. I have a good lot of the EQ boxes I have just put op for sale. There seems to be 3 versions. I will be opening up one of each of the 3 models to see if there are any differences other than the printing on the box. once I do I will post the images. Here's the units though. They are up for sale for $99 each in our ebay store for now. We are shipping new factory sealed boxes, not these opened ones

Hey folks,
Hope it's ok to resurrect this thread. I just came into a pair of Interface D's with the EQ today after waiting a couple years for an older collector I know to sell his. I purchased a pair of JBL 4425s off of him two years ago and he mentioned he had this pair which he finally agreed to sell now. They are in very nice shape with minimal wear for their age so needless to say, I'm thrilled.
I just have one question though, as both speaker taps on the back are 8ohm, is it possible to run a tube amp into one set and a solid state into the other? Provided you aren't feeding signal through both at the same time? I assume this was for bi-amping but I'm curious if that would work.

Congratulations on a fine set of speakers. To answer your question, yes, the speaker taps are for bi-amping.

Very very nice. I'd try to put some acoustic foam or sound deadening against each wall where first reflections hit from that baby buttcheek tweeter, otherwise, looking good!
An exceptionally nice fellow on these boards rebuilt my own eq from scratch with fine components.
Still some hiss. I would say the EV Sentry VI is to be used like a 114 lb speaker should, and that is rather loudly.
So, close, near-field isn't their strong suit. Me, I quit using that EQ awhile back, tho it does push that low end up a bit.
I don't own the plates to block off that port, which is what one is supposed to do with the EQ, so it all kinda worked out.
OH, I never answered ya about those taps.
Yes, you can run SS on the low end, and a tube amp on the highs. There was some type of funky plug that was meant to be inserted to bypass the internal crossover, I believe, but those are rare as hen's teeth.

Thanks again. After having these speakers for a few months now, I absolutely love them. I've got them running with a Mastersounds Radius 2 preamp mixer and a Fisher 680 tube amp and size aside, they literally disappear into the room. I NEVER feel like I'm listening to a speaker and that is a huge compliment. For the first time in years, I feel like I'm no longer chasing a sound. Keepers for sure.
I'm not an SPL goof anymore, but you have to love the plate on the back of the cabinet warning of high spl.

bought a pair at a garage sale with Hitachi pre amp and amp combo for $120... what a steal at first I thought they were junk till I picked them up.. recently upgraded to Adcom gfa5800 cant wait for the crossovers and woofer refoam to be done to hear these monsters. really wish I could find the equalizer or somebody to really simplify this. talked to a very knowledgeable guy and he couldn't figure out how to convert these for us. if anyone makes one, please make a step by step video on YouTube. me and my pops would sure appreciate it. first few post on the subject with pictures and what not makes sense but after that I'm very lost.

Second, that's a HELL of a score. How in the world could you think they were junk?? The cabinets scream quality.
Please post pics. As for the crossovers, it's not hard to convert them, and there's a guy on Ebay that had done so to a few. If I remember correctly, there's only 4 resistors to change out.
I got lucky and had another AK'er do it for me.
Post those pics, and don't be afraid to ask questions.
Yes very good deal well when someone has a price tag for $120 you can’t expect much. At the time got them for the amp little did we know on the goldmine we came across. Ya I’ve been looking for the eq since I bought them last year no luck.
