Any chance of ID'ing this tape?

Picked up 4 10" reels with this tape on it. Then there is a 7" reel where both sides of the tape look like the black.

Any ideas?

Also, would this tape be worth using with an Akai GX deck?

Looks like Ampex 406 or 456. Check for Sticky Shed problem.

At the risk of rediculing myself, I'm glad that you mentioned that because I was kind of curious about which side was the magnetic side. (not much experience with reel tape).

The reel actually looks like a Scotch (3M) brand tape reel. I don't which tapes Scotch made that were backcoated or if the tape that is on the reel is the same brand as the reel.
