Any help with how to wire this motor???

I'm really thinking you got a stepper motor here.. and I'm trying for the best of me to remember exactly how those were wired.. .
 
OK, reading through these two links, I get that it is a reversable motor and that it needs to be wired with a cap and resistor between legs 1 and 3, and leg 2 going to nutrual. BUT, if I am only going one direction, does it still need the cap and resistor??? I just pluged it in using just leg 2 and 3, then 1 and 2, and each time the motor was trying its hardest to turn, but was stalled....it just sat there rumbling So.......? What does the cap and resistor do? Does the non working leg need so power for the motor to turn?
 
I probably shouldn't get involved here knowing as little as I do about motors. And about resistors in their circuits. But I do know that many motors require a run capacitor. I also believe these types of motors are quieter types for applications like turntables, ceiling fans, paper laminators (as opposed to heavier motors that use start capacitors like attic fans, washing machines, etc.). I believe the charge/discharge cycles of the cap keep the motor running. Also, the uF value rating of the cap will determine the speed the motor runs at.

Also, if are you going to run one direction I know of no reason why you can't wire past the switch. But you'll still need the R/C circuit to run the motor.
