Anybody ever used Yahoo Japan?

Hey all,

I am interested in an item on Yahoo Japan but I can't even get to register. I tried using Babelfish but not sure how accurate the translation is. Any advice? Thanks.

I've been told you can't register without a Japan address. I used to know someone who lived there, and I used him for the few items I wanted.

There are ways of doing it.
You have to find a Japanese agent who will act as a proxy buyer for you.
I have tried in the past.I think that once they know that a 'Gaijin' is buying,they jack-up the price.I also watched the auction count-down to (say)two minutes,then reset to ten minutes,about five times.
Read that last sentence again.I'm NOT joking. :nono:

I think the way their system works is that if an item gets a bid in the last X minutes (possibly 5 or 10) then it increases the time left in the auction by 5 or 10 minutes. It's an anti-sniping measure.
