I got these at a rummage sale for $1 each. Any idea what they are. No names or numbers anywhere? They dont sound too bad. Ill probably donate them to a neighbor for his garage.

Those are all similar to what I was thinking. Probably part of a lower end combo system from the 70's. Oh well, the neighbor will be happy.:D Thanks all!:thmbsp:

I am thinking CTS drivers, too (look for a "137" stamped somewhere on the drivers' baskets). The speaker systems could be absolutely anything, but the cabinetry and cosmetics make me think of some of the 1960s HH Scott speakers. What does the back panel (connection terminal panel) look like?

I think the "...Marine Manufacturing Company" probably refers to the plywood that was used: marine plywood!

Interesting that the tweeters are Japanese. I would have expected a US brand, from the appearances. I've seen plenty of similar VINTAGE speakers without clear IDs, and just shrug them off as relics from the days when a lot of audio hobbyists were building their own tuners and amplifiers... and speakers. Check out old issues of magazines like Popular Mechanic, and you'll find plans for things like these. Sometimes they sound quite good. Other times they don't. Let your ears decide.

The guy said his neighbor built these years ago. I assume he meant installed the drivers, not the cabs themselves.
