The one I have is oozing oily stuff and also slightly warped from what I can tell, but I can't seem to find the specific one that would fit the platter.
Anybody know where to find a Technics SL-D33 mat?

That's a great site, so thanks for the suggestion, but there aren't any of the type I'm looking for on there. Or at least, none that specifically state they are compatible with the SL-D33. What makes it difficult is the little sensors on the platter to detect disc size. Most mats don't have holes to accommodate them.

I did, thanks. Hopefully they have it. Otherwise I'll have to give up and admit to myself that I can't tell the difference between vinyl and good digital audio.

I haven't yet. Organ donor parts doesn't have one though. In another thread you recommended 303 aerospace protectant I think. Is this the stuff you use?

That's it. Not cheap but it works great to restore and protect. I actually started using it on a 69 Firebird convertible. Having the top down most of the time I was looking to protect the interior, seats, dash etc. At some point I bought a Yamaha PF-800 and the rubber was cracked on the platter and the suspension caps. I used this. It helped but that mat was so far gone. You can't fix cracks.

Awesome thanks. I ordered some and it should be here tomorrow. People say it doesn't leave residue, so hopefully it will be fine on my records once it dries. The mat isn't too far gone so hopefully it'll work pretty well.
As for the Firebird, that's pretty darn cool. My dad's got a '69 Chevelle in his garage which will probably fall to me to restore; though I think it will take a bit more than some fancy armorall.

I used the 303 aerospace protectant. Didn't fix the slight warp the mat seems to have, but for the time being it seems to have made the mat much more supple and stopped it leaking plasticizer.
